In Love With a Stone

Notes:

He woke up with something that hurts in his back
With the feeling he had been attacked
But nothing else that a bed of grass
The same old tree bending over him.
The garden looks so peaceful, every thing is quiet
The smell of spring, and the flowers white
His fingers found there hidden in the green
Just a piece of stone sleeping below him

In love with a stone, I would say

He forgave the cold mineral
Gently pick it up like a new jewel
He felt the charm of the polished skin
Hard like a blade, strong like a dream
He felt proud he was born there
He won’t change his country for any where else.
Some many things that he wants to protect,
every single tree, every single wall

In love with a stone, I would say
In love with his country anyway
In love with a stone, I would say
In love with his mother anyway.

He couldn’t accept sharing those wonders,
with an invader, with a foreigner
He ran to the top of the hill,
filling up his lungs, challenging for real.
Holding strongly in his right hand,
like a piece of heart, like an acre of land.
The dear rocky symbol of his holly garden,
the stone from Heaven.

In love with a stone, I would say
In love with his country anyway
In love with a stone, I would say
In love with his mother anyway.

He reached the river where his land ends,
Lovely fresh water, feel like diving again.
But could not swim more than few meters,
drowned by the load inside his fist.
Just a piece of stone, just a stupid stuff, less than a pound but heavy enough
He died before he understood why he had to pay
His mind was narrowed by the game he played.

In love with a stone, I would say
In love with his country anyway
In love with a stone, I would say
In love with his mother anyway.
